Tech (+0.03%) was weighed by Mediatek (2454 TT, NT$442, -3.07%) despite announcing that it has entered into a licensing agreement with NTT DOCOMO, INC. regarding LTE-PF technology. Tech gainers included Macronix (2337 TT, NT$21.70, +3.33%) after delivering better than expected 2Q results, HTC (2498 TT, NT$533, +2.70%) after it announced the launch of four new smartphones during its HTC brand campaign in Beijing, and Pegatron (4938 TT, NT$36.60, +3.98%) after it reportedly persuaded Sony into considering outsourcing a small portion of its 2011 NB for testing.
